BURRR! What happened to global warming?!

In spite of enduring the hottest summer on record down here in South Texas, now we're having one of the coldest winters on record and I can't hardly keep that shop warm enough to work in! Algore, eat yer heart out. It was all a sham!!

So, here I sit working on my taxes in the nice, warm confines of my home office, and figured I better get this blog updated a bit while I'm at it. Ever notice how many things one can think of doing to avoid doing one's taxes?

Well, anyhow, I've posted a couple shots of one of my recent creations for your enjoyment. I actually intended to exhibit this saddle at the Wichita Falls show last year but didn't quite get it done in time. It's built on a Timberline Ray Hunt tree, 15 ½” seat, 3 ½ x 3 tear drop wood post horn, 4 ½ x 12 cantle, full stirrup slotted QH bars, 6 ½ w x 7 ½ h gullet, Hermann Oak leather and Hansens Sterling overlay silver.

So, here she is. I actually finished this one quite a while back but I've been busy. I actually had intended to trim those skirts down a bit in back but as it turned out, I think it looks alright.

Blogosphere: Day 1

So, ............ here I sit, as have many before, blogging away,..... though not, "in my underwear"...... bearing my all to any and all.

First, I would like to mention a word of thanks to my fellow leather crafters who steered me toward this little endeavor and because it's all about linking up, I will be adding their links here shortly..... just as soon as I figure out how to do it. At this point, I'm not sure what the heck I'm doing and as far as I know, I've just hacked into my own computer for some computer virus maniac to help himself to my identity and life savings. Oh well, .....then we'll both be poor, and when I catch him, he'll be poor and dead.

Having gotten through all that inititial introduction stuff, I suppose I should add something about saddles, which, presumably is why ya'll stopped by this blog. Here's a pic of my most recent work in progress.

I'll be back to post a few more pics when it's complete. It might be a while, since this is that time of year when I must waste a couple of weeks preparing my taxes for ol' Uncle Samboski's IRS henchmen. More on that later, I'm sure.
